Who we are
IDS is a Ghana-based business that sells and delivers AirtelTigo ("AT") data bundles. For the purposes of data protection law, IDS is the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us using the details in the "Contact us" section below.
Information we collect
We collect only the information we need to fulfil your orders:
- Recipient details: the AT phone number that should receive the data bundle.
- Payment details: the Mobile Money number used to pay, the network (e.g. MTN, Telecel, AT), the registered account name returned by the network when verifying a number, and the amount, status and reference of each transaction. We do not collect or store your Mobile Money PIN.
- Contact details: your email address, if you choose to provide one for receipts and delivery updates.
- Order records: the bundles you purchased, order references, and delivery status.
- Communications: messages you send us by email, phone, WhatsApp or other channels.
- Technical and usage data: limited information your browser or device sends automatically, such as IP address, device and browser type, and basic interactions with the website, used to keep the service secure and working.
How we collect information
- directly from you when you place an order or contact us;
- automatically through your device when you visit the website; and
- from our payment partner and the relevant Mobile Money network when a payment is initiated or verified (for example, the registered account name and the payment outcome).
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- process your order and deliver data to the recipient number;
- take and verify payment, and prevent and detect fraud;
- send you order confirmations, receipts and delivery updates (where you provide contact details);
- provide customer support and respond to your enquiries;
- operate, secure, maintain and improve our website and service; and
- comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.
Legal basis for processing
Depending on the situation, we process your personal data because it is:
- necessary to perform our contract with you (to deliver the bundle you ordered and take payment);
- based on your consent (for example, where you provide your email for updates);
- necessary for our legitimate interests, such as preventing fraud and keeping our service secure; and
- necessary to comply with a legal obligation.
Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet our legal, accounting, tax and fraud-prevention obligations. Order and transaction records are typically retained for the periods required by applicable law, after which they are deleted or anonymised.
Data security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including restricting access and securing transmission of sensitive data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), you have rights over your personal data, including the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- ask us to delete your information where there is no legal reason for us to keep it;
- object to or restrict certain processing; and
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on your consent.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.
Children's privacy
Our service is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Third-party links
Our website may link to third-party sites or services that we do not control. This policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy notices.
International transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside Ghana. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure your information continues to be protected in line with applicable data protection law.
